Renee Thompson
I am the Music Educator at SES. I was born and raised in Manhattan, Kansas, and attended Catholic School until my junior year. I have a been a church musician all my life, even in middle school I played at mass for twice a weekend and accompanied the adult choir at church. While attending Wichita State, I worked for the Baptist church, playing and directing choirs.
I met my husband Tim in Dallas, Texas, and we have been married for 26 years. We currently own our own cleaning company, Music City Maids, and that keeps Tim quite busy. We have three children; MacKenzie who is finishing her degree in Public Relations at the University of North Texas, Tyler, a sophomore in college, and Preston who is a sophomore at FRHS.
Prior to the coming to SES, I was the part time music teacher at Oak Hill School for five years. Prior to moving to Tennessee, I taught at St. James School in Liberty, MO, and was the director of music and liturgy for several Catholic Churches in the Kansas City area.
I am passionate about music and liturgy and I hope to pass on this excitement to the children of St. Edward.
